Fundamentally, a PBM is a negotiator and manager of prescriptions purchased from drug manufacturers and pharmacies for employers and their employees. Their role in delivering prescriptions to patients is an important one in the healthcare industry.
In this course, you’ll learn about how prescription costs are determined and who is involved every step of the way from drug manufacturer to enrolled health plan member. PBMs play a major role in determining those prices, and you’ll learn how to choose a good fit for your employer clients.
